Is it 2024 already?

The flow of time is inexplicable, years of monumental scientific and prudential advancements have also promulgated a skeleton of memories. Tried incorporating a few references from the 2000s and later decades, hope this evokes some nostalgia!

I still recall the first day of school, in the bus too shy to shake hands

Too nervous to volunteer, my confidence fading like quicksand.

Kafkaesque isn't it? The slightest courage now fills me with delight.

Though still in shock, as to how many years have gone by in hindsight.

Who would have known a virus would have turned our lives around

From infants to adults, photons from androids and mobiles us surround

Wasn’t the first smartphone and the iPad not too far back?

That we now have flexible OLEDs, portable quantum bits fit into a sack.

Nifty isn’t it, even Captain America, Iron Man are in MCU no more?

In a few years, Manga Comics, Harry Potter and Divergent would be folklore!

Feels strange to know; Doraemon is no more to fancy.

Though netflix and prime have us hooked; will theaters retain their legacy?

Who had envisaged, buying cake was uber and zomato easy?

In this era of artificial intelligence, natural erudition is so sleazy

Recall learning tenses and punctuation in English class?

Well now that’s GPTs worry, not to forget Bard and a deluge of widgets to help us pass.

Discombobulating isn’t it? Do you think GPT could have written this poem?

Melancholic every moment, an innocent dies because of war, or poverty in a slum

Yet it is hope that keeps us alive, 2024 has lots to offer let’s believe

With gratitude, strength and optimism let’s make amends and weave!
